Johnny Lightning NAS-T-JET SET UP
These JL cars are easy to to get ready for NASCAR bodied racing
It's this ease of set-up that lead us to start the NAS-T-JET series. For those who don't have the knack for setting up fray style t-jets, this is a way to remain competitive in a series
All the pieces needed to set up your NAS-T-JET
We'll be replacing the front end, rear axle and hubs, tires, p/u shoes, brushes and the body of this stock Johnny Lightning Tuff One
Prepping the body posts for attaching to the Lifelike magnet car body
We drilled out the hole to screw the mounting screws. The hole was tapped so that the threads are already there.
Body Posts attached to the chassis in preparation for attaching to the body
Doing it this way helps guarantee that the body will sit just right.
Globs of JB Weld set up to a sticky consistency
We've protected the top plate with some electric tape. Once the JB Weld is set up right we'll attach the body to the posts. The weld was placed on the body as well.
Set it up nice and even
To accomplish this, we placed the same sized brads under the rocker panels of the 88 on both sides of the car
It came out just like we expected
It sits square and we can lower it by shortening the posts to maximize handling
